Happy January everybody and happy National Trivia Day! Here at Heather and Haggis we have compiled a couple of our favourite fun facts about Scotland's islands for you, in honour of one of our best selling designs. So without further ado, did you know that:
- Whilst Scotland has over 790 offshore islands, only 89 had permanent residents in the 2011 census?
- The islands are home to 13 Munros and 7 distilleries? Can you name them?
- The island of Inchmurrin is the largest freshwater island in the British Isles?
- Despite the name, the Black Isle is not an island at all? It is a peninsula.
