The Munros is the collective name given to mountains in Scotland which are over 3000 feet in height. They are named after Sir Hugh Munro who listed them in his tables published in 1891. There are 282 Munros at the most recent count.
Munro-bagging is a very popular pastime in Scotland, where keen walkers try to climb every peak on the list. It is not an easy task but plenty of people manage to complete the set.
